Why We Built an Independent Prompt Security API
The AI security landscape is consolidating at breakneck speed. In the past year alone, major cloud providers and LLM vendors have acquired or absorbed half a dozen prompt security startups. Each acquisition follows the same pattern: the tool becomes a feature, the API gets deprecated, and customers scramble to migrate.
Parse exists because your agent's safety shouldn't depend on your LLM vendor's product roadmap.
The Acquisition Wave
When a prompt security tool gets acquired by an LLM provider, three things happen. First, the standalone API starts getting sunset notices. Second, the detection models get optimized for the acquirer's models, not yours. Third, pricing moves from pay-per-request to bundle-or-nothing.
If you're running a multi-model agent stack — and most production agents are — a vendor-locked security layer is a single point of failure with misaligned incentives.
Independence as Architecture
Parse is designed as infrastructure, not a feature. We screen prompts regardless of which model processes them. Our detection pipeline treats every LLM as equally untrusted, because that's the correct security posture.
This means you can swap models, add providers, or change your orchestration framework without touching your security layer. Your prompt screening contract stays stable even when everything around it changes.
What This Means for You
When you integrate Parse, you're betting on an API that has one job: screen prompts accurately and fast. We don't sell models. We don't compete with your LLM provider. We don't have an incentive to make our security layer "good enough" so you'll buy something else from us.
